Abacus Inn openers its doors for the first time at Abacus

Abacus Care Home on Rolleston Road Burton called time on boring old Friday nights by hosting a traditional pub night; residents, friends and family, as well as off-duty staff, attended the night to support the home and bring some cheer to the residents. The pub-themed night was held to bring back memories & experiences of going to the pub; the event was able to be had with the help of Marston’s, who lent the home a mobile bar for the night and some Marston’s paraphernalia to set the mood. Activities on the night included karaoke, a singalong, bingo, a pub quiz and a blackout. Bar snacks and a limited amount of alcohol were available on the night. A total of £76 was raised on the night, and this money will go into the resident’s fund, which in turn will go towards new equipment or days out for the residents.
